TrailQuipt Style Guide

BRAND STYLE REQUIREMENTS

ALL PRODUCED CONTENT:

  1. Must adhere to the Brand Style Guidelines.
  2. Must retain brand colors and may not deviate from them.
  3. Must be current, in good condition and in good taste.
  4. Must follow all state, local and municipal laws.
  5. Must not use any unauthorized, trademarked or copyrighted information for any reason unless the appropriate authorization, licensing or copyright has been acquired.

Logos and Usage

The TrailQuipt logo is provided in full color, alternative full color, black and white with three approved versions of each.

In Text

In text, TrailQuipt should appear as one word in upper- and lower-case with a capital “T” for Trail and a capital “Q” for Quipt. In sentences, the TrailQuipt artwork is never to be used in place of text.

Proper Use:
The TrailQuipt logo is our most valuable brand asset.

Tagline

The TrailQuipt tagline is “Equipping Adventure”. There are two approved logos with the tagline included, stacked and emblem.

Alternative Colors:

The black logo can be used when one-color printing is required. The white logo can be used on dark or photographic backgrounds, or for screen printing or imprint purposes (e.g., pens or other branded materials).

The TrailQuipt Logos should be used without alteration to officially brand items. Be sure to review the following for specific usage guidelines for each version.

The clear-space rule

Always position the TrailQuipt logo for maximum impact and give it plenty of room to breathe. This will help to ensure the logo’s visibility and legibility.

The suggested minimum clear space for the TrailQuipt logo is defined by the width of the first T in TrailQuipt.

The Minimum Size

When reproducing the TrailQuipt logo, be conscious of its size and legibility. Use common sense, a logo that is too small ceases to serve any useful communication function. In some cases (i.e. business cards) “Equipping Adventure” may become to small to be legible. If your art board requires a small logo you may need to add a small amount of line weight around “Equipping Adventure” to help with legibility.

The suggested minimum size for the TrailQuipt wordmark is 0.75” wide.

The suggested minimum size for the TrailQuipt wordmark with tagline logo is 1.6” wide.

The suggested minimum size for the TrailQuipt emblem is 1.36” wide.

Logo Misuse

These examples describe how NOT to use the logo, but do not include all instances of misuse

DO NOT

  • Alter the marks in any way.
  • Use any part of the marks as part of another word.
  • Redesign, redraw, modify, distort, or alter the proportions of the marks.
  • Surround the marks with—or place in the foreground over—a pattern or design that has not been approved for use with the TrailQuipt brand.
  • Rotate or render the marks three-dimensionally.
  • Add words, images, or any other new elements to the marks.
  • Replace the approved typeface with any other typeface.
  • Enclose the marks in a shape or combine it with other design elements or effects.
  • Modify the size or position relationship of any element within the marks.
  • Add additional copy to the marks.

The TrailQuipt logo uses a modern color palette that complements the outdoors. In this guide we’ve outlined the colors we’ll use in the primary, alternate and greyscale palettes.

Dark Gray

The slate used in the TrailQuipt is labeled as very dark gray. When people from western culture see this color they might associate it with being simplistic, modern and well traveled.

Imagery

Our patrons are here to experience the outdoors. The TrailQuipt brand uses imagery to portray it's culture while building a connection between TrailQuipt and the outdoors.

Photo guidelines

  • All photos must be high resolution photos that are clean, crisp and in focus with minimal hard shadows or excessive over exposure.
  • All photos must appear to be natural with no signs of stylistic filters.
  • Blurry, grainy, or low quality photos should not be used even if the content is good.

Brand Elements

Texture

The TrailQuipt Brand uses a subtle topographic texture to add a touch of interest and exploration to it’s designs.

The topographic texture is created by layering topographic map over the green color at 13% opacity and multiplied.

No other textures should be used in conjunction with the TrailQuipt brand. Use your best judgment when designing with this element.

Color Bars

The TrailQuipt Brand uses a geometric set of color bars to break up the transition between elements.
